CRCs to transform food and transport systems

QUT will be a lead research partner in two new Cooperative Research Centres announced by the Australian Government that aim to help transform Australia’s food and transport systems.

The $210 million Food Agility CRC and the $234 million iMOVE CRC will both drive change through digital innovation.

The iMOVE CRC is charged with delivering reduced congestion, fuel use, emissions and crashes, and improved freight coordination, productivity and international competitiveness, and lifestyle and wellbeing.

The Food Agility CRC will work with the agri-food industry to pursue Australia’s opportunities to provide fresh and processed food for a global population expected to reach 9.6 billion by 2050.
