International alumni leaders return to QUT

The QUT Alumni and Development Office recently welcomed back some of our international alumni for the biannual International Alumni Leaders’ Conference at the end of July.

The five-day conference involved 13 delegates from seven countries, each participating wholeheartedly in the program, which included signature QUT events.

In between strategic planning for the future of international alumni programs, delegates attended the QUT Open Day on both campuses and the Outstanding Alumni Awards Breakfast at the Brisbane Convention and Exhibition Centre.

QUT Alumni Manager Ken Gideon said the delegates particularly enjoyed being back on campus, with many visiting for the first time since their own graduation.

“For alumni who studied as international students, their time at QUT is representative of so much more than the hard work they put into their studies – it represents the adventure they undertook when they chose to leave the comfort of their home country to live and learn in Australia,” Mr Gideon said.
